As part of “Turkish Summer School” organized by Yunus Emre Institute students come to Turkey from abroad visited Konya Science Center.
Within the scope of the program 150 Turkology students coming from 33 different countries and receiving education in Ankara Hacettepe University TÖMER came to Konya for Yunus Emre Institute Summer School Science Center Meeting.
Within Academic and Scientific Cooperation Portal of Turkey (TABİP) initiated by Yunus Emre Institute under the auspices of Presidency and introduced Turkey’s scientific existence in international area, students visited Konya Science Center watched science shows, atelier and laboratory activities.
Head of the Institute Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş stated in his speech at the program that while the Institute established for enhancing Turkey’s recognition in international area and contributing to cultural interaction throughout the world is active in more than 60 countries, it maintains its works with science advisors in 5 countries.
Referred to the importance of sharing innovation and fineness with people and world Ateş said, “That’s why we are in science center today. Main goal of TABİP is to meet scientific development in Turkey with the world. And also to meet all scientific data in the world with Turkey. To use it to good account of mankind by establishing bond classifies fields of science. In this sense TÜBİTAK makes the biggest contribution.”
Head of Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) Hasan Mandal indicated the council will celebrate its 55th years in the following days.
After drawing attention to provide science’s interaction with society is one of the duties of TÜBİTAK, Mandal said, “In 2017 amount of support provided is 1, 6 billion liras for one year. This money is for people to make more researches in Turkey and to turn these researches into values. Both to projects of tutors in universities and also to researches in industry… It is an institution that provides support for increasing activity of business world, for active operation of science centers.”
Konya Metropolitan Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay, many students and academicians attended to the program.
