In this introductory course, students will first be introduced to the materials and their uses. After which they will be shown painting techniques in the Iznik style and start to design their own works for the class. Then they transfer their chosen design onto a ceramic surface. This will take the bulk of the term and at the end, the students will be firing their works which they can claim as their own impressions of the Iznik style.

All levels of ability and experience welcome.

All necessary materials will be provided for the course. There will be one glazing day per term and unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that pieces won’t be damaged in the kiln or survive the firing.
